Heart & Soul Community Choir were a small Poundbury-based choir that later moved to Fordington. Singing music from across the genres, Heart & Soul attracted those who enjoyed singing as part of a warm and supportive group.

Established in 2013, Heart & Soul sang on many occasions with VIVA! Women’s Choir, performing together as the Dorchester Community Chorus and winning Best Large Choir of the Weymouth Music Festival in 2014, 2015 and 2023! Heart & Soul performed in Heartwood, an original outdoor piece and part of the 2014 Inside Out Festival. They sung their hearts out at the annual Christmas concerts in Dorchester, and performed at the Corn Exchange, Athelhampton House, The Engine Room in Poundbury and many other local venues in the area. In doing so, they have helped to raise thousands of pounds for local charities, including Homestart West Dorset, Parkinson’s UK, and the Citizen’s Advice Bureau.
In 2023, Kathie’s adult choirs combined to become Cloud 9 Chorus: a collaboration of Dorset County Hospital Choir, VIVA! and Heart & Soul. Are you interested in singing in a choir? No prior experience is needed! Please join us for a free taster session. New members are welcome at any point in the year. There’s no need to read music and the sessions are informal, fun and a great way to relax and de-stress!
