Skylarks Children’s Choir

Two children dressed as street urchinsSkylarks is an exciting Wessex music choir for children in years 2, 3 and 4 who enjoy singing, led by choir director and singing teacher, Kathie Prince LGSM, PGCE.

Skylarks provides young singers with plenty of opportunities to perform at Wessex music events and with Kathie’s adult choirs in the community. In recent years, Skylarks have sung at the Weymouth Music Festival, the DASP Summer Prom, the DASP Christmas Concert and with Kathie’s adult choirs at the Inside Out Festival and annual Christmas concerts in Dorchester. In 2018, Skylarks were thrilled to be invited to sing at the Dorset Museum to celebrate the arrival of Dippy on Tour.

The choir sings an exciting variety of songs whilst learning the basis of good vocal technique. Entry is by a short audition to assess singing ability and ability to concentrate and work with a group.

Skylarks meet on Thursdays from 3.45pm-4.30pm (term time) at Prince of Wales School, Dorchester. For more information, or to join, email Hannah Trevorrow at wessexmusic@wessex.ac, or ring the Wessex Music Office on 01305 266064 (Ext. 323). Alternatively email Kathie at singing@kathieprincemusic.co.uk
