Orange Autumn Leaves Hello Autumn Instagram Post

If you’ve been thinking about joining a choir, September is a great time to start. Our friendly, inclusive choir Cloud 9 Chorus is open to all, whether you have sung before or are completely new to it. And you don’t need to be able to read music!

Returning from our summer break on Tuesday September 3th, we’ll be starting the term with a batch of new songs, along with some old favourites. Your first session is free, so why not drop in and join us? Rehearsals are every Tuesday in term time, from 7pm-8.30pm in the Durnovaria Silver Band Hall in Fordington, Dorchester. Choir fees are £8 per session when paid half-termly or £10 when paid weekly (concession rate available, more details here), plus an additional £4 half-termly fee for music files. Soul Full of Sunshine: Our summer concert in Cerne Abbas, 2024

Summertime was celebrated in Cerne Abbas this July as Kathie presented her adult choir, Cloud 9 Chorus, along with Wessex Music children’s choirs  Skylarks and  Nightingales and Cerne Abbas First School choir, Hummingbirds, at our summer choral concert! Also featuring special guests Waterfolk, this upbeat, joyful programme gave a taste of gospel, pop and folk songs old and new, all in aid of children’s charity Mosaic, supporting bereaved children.

We were blessed with beautiful sunny weather for our first performance as Cloud 9 Chorus at Upton country Park walled garden on June 3rd this year.

Visitors to the park enjoyed a picnic on the lawns whilst listening to a variety of choral music. Also featuring Poole-based choir the Quayside Singers, the programme included well-known pop songs from the last few decades, as well as original music from local composer Geof edge, and a selection of Ukrainian songs.

Weymouth Music Festival

March 2023

Viva!, Heart & Soul, and DCH choirs took part in the Weymouth Music Festival this March, entering in the adult choir category. We sang a collection of songs, including one of our favourites, Make Your Own Kind of Music. The festival was a great way to take part in a celebration of local music talents from all backgrounds, and of all abilities.
