In the autumn of 2023, three community choirs run by Kathie Prince joined together and Cloud 9 Chorus was born!

Viva!, a dynamic, award-winning women’s choir, merged with the small but perfectly formed Heart & Soul Community Choir, along with one of Kathie’s newest choirs, Dorchester County Hospital Choir.

As Cloud 9 Chorus, this inclusive, friendly choir now has over 50 members and welcomes singers of all genders.

We sing an eclectic mix of songs including gospel, folk, classical, world music, pop songs old and new, and original pieces composed for special events.

Kathie‘s choirs perform regularly at local events such as the Weymouth Music Festival and Dorset Women’s Day, raising funds for local and national charities alike. We have helped to raise thousands of pounds for good causes, including Homestart West Dorset, Mosaic children’s charity, and Citizen’s Advice Central Dorset.

Cloud 9 Chorus performs with Kathie’s children’s choirs, Skylarks, Hummingbirds and Nightingales, on a regular basis. The highlight of our year is our Christmas charity concert in Dorchester, which is always packed to the rafters!

Singing with Cloud 9 Chorus is informal and relaxed, and a great way to meet people, have fun, and de-stress at the end of the day. We welcome new members at any point in the year. No prior experience of singing is necessary and you don’t need to be able to read music. Cloud 9 Chorus thrives on its laid-back, friendly atmosphere so come and join us, and experience the joy of singing together!

The basic workshop fee is £8 per session, which is paid in a half-termly block at the start of each half term (i.e. £40 for a half-term of 5 sessions, but variable depending on the number of weeks in the half term). Alternatively, you can pay on a week-by-week basis, charged at £10 per session. A concessionary rate for those who are unemployed or in receipt of Universal Credit or Pension Credit is available at £5 per session, paid half-termly, or £6 if paid on a week-by-week basis. There is an additional £4 fee for all members each half term for music scores and audio files. You can pay subs by cash, cheque or direct bank transfer online.
