As a peripatetic music teacher, Kathie offers individual music lessons in singing and clarinet within schools in the DASP (Dorchester Area Schools Partnership) area. She teaches all ages, from nursery to sixth form.
Kathie’s students follow the Trinity Rock and Pop exam programme, or the ABRSM classical programme.

SKYLARKS is an exciting DASP choir for children in years 2, 3, and 4. Skylarks provides plenty of opportunities to perform at DASP events and also with Kathie’s adult choirs. The choir sings an exciting variety of songs whilst learning the basis of good vocal technique. Entry is by a short audition to assess singing ability and ability to concentrate and work within a group.

NIGHTINGALES is a fun new DASP choir that began in September 2018, combining Harmony Vocal Group and Classics Choir. Open to children in years 5, 6, 7 and 8 , there are plenty of opportunities for performance and collaboration within DASP, and with Kathie’s other choirs. Nightingales sing a mixture of pop, classical, gospel and musicals songs with a focus on harmony singing. Entry is by a short audition to assess singing ability and ability to concentrate and work within a group.

MIDDLE SCHOOLS POP CHOIR is a brand new choir that started in February 2019. This choir is all about the feel-good fun of pop singing – and it’s free! The Pop Choir is open to all DASP middle school children – no audition necessary!
