Cloud 9 Chorus performed their annual Christmas concert with special guests this December to an enthusiastic audience, bringing festive cheer in the very cold weather! Along with Kathie’s children’s choirs Nightingales and Skylarks, and special guests The Wedding Singers, the choir performed a mix of traditional and modern Christmas songs, along with some new upbeat popular pieces.
If you’ve been thinking about joining a choir, September is a great time to start. Our friendly, inclusive choir Cloud 9 Chorus is open to all, whether you have sung before or are completely new to it. And you don’t need to be able to read music!
Returning from our summer break on Tuesday September 3th, we’ll be starting the term with a batch of new songs, along with some old favourites. Your first session is free, so why not drop in and join us? Rehearsals are every Tuesday in term time, from 7pm-8.30pm in the Durnovaria Silver Band Hall in Fordington, Dorchester. Choir fees are £8 per session when paid half-termly or £10 when paid weekly (concession rate available, more details here), plus an additional £4 half-termly fee for music files. Summertime was celebrated in Cerne Abbas this July as Kathie presented her adult choir, Cloud 9 Chorus, along with Wessex Music children’s choirs Skylarks and Nightingales and Cerne Abbas First School choir, Hummingbirds, at our summer choral concert! Also featuring special guests Waterfolk, this upbeat, joyful programme gave a taste of gospel, pop and folk songs old and new, all in aid of children’s charity Mosaic, supporting bereaved children.

Cloud 9 were honoured to take part in Dorchester’s commemoration of the 80th anniversary of D-Day on June 6th. Held in the evening on Salisbury Fields, Cloud 9 sung a repertoire of gospel songs to commemorate the invaluable contribution of Black GI soldiers in the Second World War.
